Impact at CLIPI
After graduating from Yale Law School and receiving his Masters in History from Harvard, Zasloff worked at Hall & Associates for two years, focusing on CLIPI environmental and land use law cases. His work included challenging poorly planned development projects and advocating for the expansion of Los Angeles’s urban park system.
Currently, Zasloff is a Professor of Law at UCLA School of Law, where he has taught since 1998. He specializes in property, land use, environmental law, housing discrimination law and Jewish law. In 2019, he was ordained as a rabbi by the Alliance for Jewish Renewal. He has served on the boards of the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy (the state agency charged with purchasing and protecting its open space), the Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice (the leading legal service firm for low-income clients in east Los Angeles), and Friends of Israel's Environment
In 2023, he was appointed to the Climate Emergency Mobilization Commission by Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass.
