Impact at CLIPI

Moving Forward

After graduating from Stanford Law School, Woocher clerked for Chief Judge David Bazelon of the D.C. Circuit and for U.S. Supreme Court Justice William Brennan. He then spent seven years as a staff attorney with CLIPI, litigating a broad range of public interest issues involving land use, environmental protection, and civil rights, including the Coalition and Ballona Wetlands litigation. He specialized in election law abuses and reform. He argued cases in both the California and U.S. Supreme Court and was involved in major environmental litigation.

After CLIPI, Woocher served as Special Counsel to California Attorney General John Van De Kamp and then founded Strumwasser & Woocher in Santa Monica, California, where he focuses on environmental law and legislative and governmental affairs, as well as state and municipal law issues. He is an acknowledged authority in the initiative and referendum process and on campaign financing issues.
