Impact at CLIPI
After graduating from Yale Law School, Huebner was a CLIPI fellow from 1986-87.
After CLIPI, Huebner began his private practice at Irell & Manella in Los Angeles. In 1992, he joined the Coudert Brothers International law firm, where he specialized in international arbitration and was managing partner of the LA office and later the firm’s global chairman and CEO. He handled more than 350 arbitrations across various jurisdictions worldwide, specializing in areas such as technology, life sciences, energy, and infrastructure. He has been involved in numerous public service roles, including chairing the California Law Revision Commission. During the Obama administration, Huebner was the U.S. Ambassador to New Zealand and Samoa from 2009 to 2014.
