Impact at CLIPI
Hempel was a fellow at CLIPI from 1986 to 1991, engaging in civil rights, consumer fraud, and environmental litigation.
After her tenure at CLIPI, Hempel continued her legal career in public interest law. She has held significant academic positions, including serving as a Distinguished Clinical Professor of Law and the Co-Director of the Community and Economic Development Clinic at UC Irvine School of Law. Additionally, she was the founding Associate Dean for Clinical Education and Service Learning at UC Irvine Law.
